Two weeks later

April 16, 2008 by 20worthington

It’s been two long weeks since the explosion happened in Oconomowoc. Lisa, Amber, Alissa, and Emma have been staying at Lisa’s mom’s for the time being. The initial shock is over but tears are still shed occasionally.

So many people came out and donated when the family needed it the most. The outpouring from the community is amazing!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped, donated, and kept the family in their thoughts and prayers. THANK YOU!

From a co-worker

This comment was received from one of Lisa’s coworkers and we thought we should share it:

I’ve known Lisa for the past eight years and we became good friends while working evenings and weekends when our kids were little. Lisa is truly genuine, kind-hearted, humble and caring. Lisa is such a strong woman and I know it is extremely difficult for her to be in this position and have to ask for help. She is usually the one giving and organizing and the one you can go to for help. Lisa’s faith in God will get her and her family through this. Please remember Lisa, Amber, Alissa and Emma in your prayers and your donations.

This is a very true and very touching comment. Thank you so much Laura! Lisa is very grateful to have such thoughtful and caring friends.

Update

April 7, 2008 by 20worthington

First and foremost the Lisa, Amber, Alissa, and Emma would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. They are completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of thoughtfulness from so many in the community. There were many bags of clothing donated to the family, however Amber the 14 year old didn’t have much to choose from. Gift certificates to area malls would be helpful. The others are fairly set for clothing at this time.

If anyone has used household appliances, bakeware, utensils, or pots and pans it would be greatly appreciated by Mom (Lisa). Children’s books would make Emma very happy.

Thank you, from the bottom of Lisa, Amber, Alissa, and Emma’s hearts for everything everyone has donated.

Houses belonging to the church

This picture was taken from 20 Worthington. From this picture you can see the chimney of the First Baptist Church of Oconomowoc. The house next to the church was charred from the explosion and fire.
